WWE: The Rock is asking too much again, CM Punk repeat on the cards

Published 16 Comments

The Rock will eventually return to WWE. But at the moment, he is one of those so called part-time superstars that comes back every now and then to the somewhat detriment of the wrestling company.

Everybody loves The Rock in some way though. For many wrestling fans he is what they consider as their favorite wrestler from their youth. But Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s decision to try and make it in Hollywood has rubbed some WWE fans up the wrong way over time.

Epic demands

Every time The Rock returns to WWE, it has to be special. He says so himself and he demands as much from WWE’s creative team. Speaking this week, The Rock stated again his desire to return to WWE, but he’s only looking to return for a match that has the potential to surpass everything he’s done before in the ring.

"I'd love to. We just have to figure out what it could be and what the most ideal matchup would be, and who it would be with,” The Rock explained this week. “Because I always feel like if I go back to the WWE, then it has to be bigger and greater than what I've done in the past."

Potential problems

One of The Rock’s previous returns resulted in him winning the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating CM Punk.

Some believe that CM Punk’s anger towards WWE began following that defeat, with the former superstar eventually leaving WWE in January earlier this year. It is reported that Punk was angry at WWE’s decision to always succumb to the demands of part-time wrestlers, with stars such as The Rock and Hulk Hogan given priority at pay-per-view events in recent years.

Although many wrestling fans will love to hear The Rock’s entrance music booming again inside a packed stadium, some fans will feel that the move to bring him back could destroy the chances of upcoming stars that deserve their shot at stardom.
