James Harden makes terrible defensive error for Team USA

Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden has been strutting his stuff this summer for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup.

Harden has been an integral part of the USA's domination as they look to regain their basketball world cup crown.

Known as one of the best players in the NBA, Harden's strength lies on the offensive side of the ball. He's one of the top scorers in the NBA. But every now and then we are reminded why he isn't regarded as highly as LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Terrible defense

Case and point came again at the week when Harden was playing ball as the US went head to head with Serbia.

Naturally offensively minded, Harden is known for his poor defensive skills. There are whole highlight reels dedicated to his mishaps in coverage, but this latest failure took his defensive woes to a whole new level.

As the video below shows, Harden was tracking a Serbian player expertly until bang, he wondered off in the wrong direction, lost his man and he made a hilarious spin movement that just added to the hilarity off this spectacularly bad moment for Harden.

Check out the video below for his latest mishap and his previous ones from his time in the NBA.

Team USA

All in all, the FIBA World Cup has been a tremendous waste of time for the US NBA players taking part.

Obviously the success of winning the tournament will be something that these players will hold dear, but the manner in which they won the tournament will not inspire enthusiasm in the international game.

Such is the strength of the USA, even an understrength team dominated opponents, with a 129-92 win over Serbia capping off a successful trip for Team USA's so called "C" team.
