Willian is the fastest Chelsea player says Filipe Luis

Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has revealed that Brazilian international Willian is the fastest player in the squad.

The Blues can call upon plenty of pace when it comes to going forward, with the likes of Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle capable of leaving opponents for dead - but neither of those players can quite live up to the pace of Willian.

The Brazilian joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of around £30 million having snatched him from the clutches of Tottenham. He's not been able to nail down a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge as yet but has provided some valuable contributions - he scored four goals in his first campaign including a strike against Liverpool.

Behind Willian in the hypothetical foot race, Luis named Hazard as the second quickest player at Chelsea. The speedy winger has established himself as the Blues leading light since joining in 2012, and is about to put pen to paper on a bumper new five-year contract. Coming home in third place is Schurrle.

Interestingly Luis decided to leave fleet-footed new signing Loic Remy off of his list. In a question and answer session on Twitter, defender Filipe Luis who joined the club over the summer for a fee of around £20 million, was asked who was the speediest player at Chelsea in light of Remy's arrival. He responded: "1. Willian 2. Hazard 3. Schurrle #CFCQA".

Luis also claimed that Diego Costa was the biggest joker at Chelsea, while also revealing that he likes to listen to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and U2 before a big game.

Luis was one of a handful of new arrivals at Chelsea over the summer, although it is undoubtedly his former Atletico Madrid team-mate Diego Costa who has had the biggest impact.

The Spanish international has scored seven goals in his first four Premier League games, although he is currently struggling with a hamstring injury. He started Chelsea's Champions League opener against Schalke last night on the bench and was bought on, although he could do little as they game ended 1-1.
