Former World Player of the Year Ronaldinho had a debut to forget for Mexican side Queretaro on Wednesday evening as he failed to score from 12 yards.

With his new side 1-0 down against Gallos Blancos, the 34-year-old smashed his penalty way over the cross bar - ultimately costing his side a place in the next round of the Copa MX.

Off the pace

The World Cup-winning Brazilian ace - who has starred at some of Europe's biggest clubs throughout his career - certainly looked off the pace despite playing the entire 90 minutes.

Despite his shocker from the spot and his all-round poor display, the ex-Barcelona man produced a couple moments sublime moments, but never really looked like troubling the opposition.

After just two days of training with his new club, the veteran will now be looking to improve his fitness as he goes in search of success in Mexico. And, Queretaro fans will certainly be hoping for an improvement after a debut to forget.

Having signed a two year contract with the club, following the termination of his contract with South American outfit Atletico Mineiro, Ronaldinho will now be hoping to add the Mexican title to his fine trophy cabinet.
