Manchester United's club-record signing Angel di Maria has already made a massive impression on his new Red Devils team-mates, with Rafael admitting that the Argentine star was by and away the stand-out player in their training session on Friday morning.
Di Maria looks all set to be Old Trafford's new darling on the strength of a spectacular home debut against Queens Park Rangers, the first repayment on an astronomical £59.7m British record transfer fee.
Rafael was asked who was United's best player in training today by the club's official website and produced an unsurprising reply, hailing Louis van Gaal's new £230,000-a-week star as the man who looks in top form ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Leicester City.
Ex-Madrid man already making waves
The Brazilian full-back revealed: "Today (the best in training), I would have to say it has been Angel Di Maria.
"We played 10 against 8 and he scored a great goal and he was really good."
Red Devils fans will have to wait another 48 hours for their chance to see Di Maria strut his stuff at the King Power Stadium, but if its anything like his man-of-the-match display against Queens Park Rangers the Argentine star is well worth the wait.
The £230,000-a-week star scored the opener last Sunday and was a constant menace throughout, tormenting QPR's defence to the point that even a rare miscue created a goal for Juan Mata in the second half.
Foxes preparing for daunting challenge
Leicester may well provide a sterner test though, more akin to the relatively frustrating time United endured on Di Maria's debut against Burnley.
Nigel Pearson's side are diligent, organised and above all very difficult to break down, which is likely to have played in to Van Gaal's thinking during a 10 vs. 8 session in training.
Van Gaal will have plenty of selection dilemmas to ponder ahead of Sunday's trip south, most pressingly which strikers will Di Maria be supplying in the final third.
Radamel Falcao is pushing for a first United start, but for Van Gaal to make that happen he must surely drop either Robin van Persie or Wayne Rooney.
