Manchester United vs. Leicester City: Live team sheet

Published 1 Comments

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has handed Radamel Falcao his first start this afternoon, with Juan Mata dropped from the starting XI to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Mata misses out so Falcao can partner Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney in a quite awesome Red Devils attack, but Mata's omission is still a surprise after his strong performance against Queens Park Rangers last weekend.

Elsewhere United are unchanged, which means Luke Shaw must wait a little longer for his United debut as Marcos Rojo continues at left-back.

How can that trio play together effectively?

Van Gaal has decided that Falcao, Rooney and Van Persie can all play together and collaborate effectively, with £59.7m star Angel Di Maria also squeezed into a side which will give Daley Blind plenty of work to do in a holding midfield role.

Van Gaal also keeps faith with Tyler Blackett at centre-back, while Leicester hand a first start to Argentine legend Esteban Cambiasso in central midfield.
