Radamel Falcao is a marginally better player than prolific Chelsea striker Diego Costa - that's the view of England legend Glenn Hoddle anyway.
Brazilian-born Spanish international Costa has enjoyed a sublime start to life in English football following a £32 million move from Atletico Madrid this summer, proving his quality in the final third with seven goals in four games that have helped propel the Blues to the upper echelons of the Premier League.
Colombian Falcao is another new addition to the top-flight, with Manchester United having managed to spring somewhat of a shock on transfer deadline day by striking a loan deal - one that is expected to lead to a permanent switch in 2015 - with Monaco for the services of one of world football's most revered frontmen.
Falcao - better than Costa?
Falcao - who started alongside Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie for Louis van Gaal's side on Sunday afternoon but did not register on the scoresheet as Manchester United threw away a two-goal led to succumb 5-3 to newly-promoted Leicester City in an instant classic at the King Power Stadium - has yet to demonstrate his class in the famous red shirt, yet Hoddle believes he remains slightly superior to Costa.
After lavishing praise on the rugged 25-year-old in a column for the Daily Mail, he said: "I would put his former Atletico team-mate, Radamel Falcao, just ahead of him overall but he still looks like the missing link for Chelsea.
"They - as Atletico before them - have worked out how to play in the way that suits him best, which Spain, with their short intricate passing, didn’t manage in the World Cup."
Costa will be looking to further showcase his goalscoring prowess on Sunday afternoon as Chelsea travel to face reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The Blues did the double over Manuel Pellegrini's side in the league last season, although dropped points elsewhere - and a pre-Costa striker slump - resulted in them finishing four points adrift in third.
Is Hoddle right here? Is Falcao a better player than Costa or does the latter's recent goal record propel him above the former Atletico Madrid and Porto man? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box provided below.
