One word that is rarely used to describe a modern footballer is class. Far too often the media depicts them as money-grabbing monsters who show no commitment or faithfulness to their sides.
But there is one footballer, who, time after time proves us and the press wrong. His name? Frank Lampard. The England international recently made the shock move from Chelsea to New York City and then on loan to Manchester City.
It was the move to City that shocked football fans around the world. Lampard said in a previous interview that he would never play for another Premier League club apart from Chelsea ever again. But then the move to City came but was it a lack of honesty?
Probably not. After all, it was Chelsea and Jose Mourinho that didn't offer Lampard a new contract, with the England man stating he would have stayed had he been offered a deal. But Lampard is such a professional in his work. He left Stamford Bridge - his home for so many years - with his head held high after a glittering career that saw him become royalty in West London.
A lucrative move to newly founded MLS team New York City followed, but the Englishman quickly found himself back in England with Manchester CIty, who are partnered with the American club. Rarely do you see in a footballer where it is all about the football, match time and proving yourself to your home fans.
It is all too common these days whereby professionals are more than happy to make do with a place on the bench in order to collect their sky-high wages. But not Lampard. Yes, he has been with a top-quality team for most of his career, but it would have been oh so easy to jump ship even last season when his play time was slightly restricted.
So when his dramatic equaliser for City came in the 85th minute against Chelsea it was no surprise that 'Super Frank' bowed his head and didn't even muster a smile. It was a strange moment for every football fan around the world, but one we could collectively smile about.
