Arsenal fans are set to question the club's potential signing of Spanish international Iker Casillas, according to the Express.
It's been reported that the Real Madrid star - who still has three and a half years left on his current contract at the La Liga giants - has decided to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
And, if reports are to be believed, the veteran could decide to join Arsenal in the summer of 2015 in order to get a taste of the Premier League before his retirement. It appears that the Spaniard has decided to leave Madrid following the arrival of Costa Rican 'keeper Keylor Navas.
Casillas' opportunities, then, may be limited in the long-term under Carlo Ancelotti, meaning he could head to north London in search of first-team football. Navas is set to start for Real against Elche tomorrow night, but it remains to be seen as to whether Casillas will hand in a transfer request at the club.
It appears, though, that Arsenal fans are set to question Wenger in his pursuit of the Real 'keeper. A possible deal to land Casillas certainly seems a surprise, with the club already having Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina at their disposal.
Arsenal fans may well be concerned with Casillas' struggles in recent time. The 'keeper was dropped by Jose Mourinho in the 2012/13 season and struggled for opportunities under Carlo Ancelotti last term.
And, at this summer's World Cup - as Spain endured a nightmare tournament - Casillas was made a scapegoat as he made a number of mistakes in the group stage of the competition. Despite being reinstated as the club's No.1 this term, the Spaniard has once again struggled for form, meaning he could be replaced by Navas.
It remains to be seen as to whether Wenger will make a move for the Spaniard, but Arsenal fans will certainly be hoping that he returns to his form of old should he make the move to north London. As it stands, it appears unlikely that he would breakthrough into the Arsenal team, so his signing would present a bizarre one.
