Despite a poor 1-2 start for the Green Bay Packers, there isn't a more cool customer in the NFL than quarterback Aaron Rodgers who has simply told fans to relax about the state of the team.
Rodgers says Relax
Rodgers took to his ESPN Milwaukee radio show and the Green Bay gun-slinger had a soothing message to Packers-nation, he said: "Five letters here just for everybody out there in Packer-land: R-E-L-A-X, Relax. We're going to be OK."
The Packers had just lost a divisional low-scoring contest with the Detroit Lions and murmurs of crisis had begin surfacing around the beloved Green Bay team, in particular the struggles of Rodgers who was considered by many as one of the top prospects for this seasons MVP award.
Through only three games, the Packers offence lead by Rodgers ranks 28th in the entire league for total yards and the impeccably accurate quarterback is only completing a mere 62.7% of his passes, a mark that is currently on course to be the lowest in his career.
The loss to the Lions was shocking as Rodgers in particular has always performed exceptionally against Detroit, before their most recent meeting, Rodgers was 9-1 against Detroit having thrown 19 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions in those games.
His 162-yard performance on Sunday was the second-lowest total in a game that he started and finished.
The rocky start to the season for the Packers does solely sit on the shoulders of Rodgers, the face of the franchise and former-Most Valuable player of the NFL is one of the games top quarterbacks and his lacklustre early season struggles are noticeable.
Although the 30-year old is coming off a broken collarbone which forced him to miss 7 games of the previous season, other distractions are being teased as to the problem with Rodgers.
It is no secret that he has recently started dating actress Olivia Munn, some have suggested a less focused Rodgers could be his downfall but is it too ludicrous to state that who he is dating is the central reason to a poor Green Bay start?
Rodgers current message to the fans is to relax as he believes the team are in good shape, he is also commented to the claims about Munn, saying: "Those are so idiotic it's not even worth responding to either one of those,"
The Packers are the most widely supported team in the NFL and success is expected with the franchise, which is why a 1-2 start may not seem like the end of the world, but it spells trouble in Packers-nation.
So Rodgers new slogan to his fans, Keep calm and relax as the Packers will be fine.
