If you picked LeSean McCoy with your first fantasy football pick your probably not to impressed with how things have gone so far.
Early season struggles
He has struggled thus far and has largely been out shined by new addition Darren Sproles who had a huge night in the Eagles week two match up against the Colts.
Last season McCoy lead the league with 1,607 rushing yards. This season he is averaging less than three yards a carry and has totalled 175 yards through three games.
However despite these statistics McCoy has today maintained that he is not struggling:
"I don't think I'm struggling at all," McCoy told CSNPhilly.com. "I don't know what you mean by that. I don't think I'm struggling, at all. So I don't know what you mean by that."
McCoy didn't make any excuses for his teams poor ground game against Washington, "We didn't get it done today on the ground. Simple as that."
A big part of his struggles so far could be associated with the Eagles banged up offensive line that's struggled to open any holes for McCoy. Evan Mathis, Allen Barbre, Jason Kelce and Jason Peters have all missed time this season while former first-round pick Lane Johnson has been suspended.
Head Coach Chip Kelly doesn't seem too concerned about his star running backs lack of production:
“No, we haven’t had any conversations about it......One thing I know about LeSean and everybody loves is he wants to win. I know he knows we’re 3‑0. He’s had more carries this year in the first three games than he had last year. But obviously the same five guys blocking for him is part of it to do with it. We’ve got to do a better job in the run game just overall, but I think he’s excited that we’re 3‑0. Sometimes they come in bunches and you can string a couple games back‑to‑back."
Fantasy owners shouldn't make any rash decisions. Yes he's struggled through the first three games however he is still one of the best in the business, and it could all of a sudden click into place for him this weekend against the 49ers.
