LA Clippers’ players ordered to stop using iPads by new owner

LA Clippers players have had an eventful year. Their old owner turned out to be a man who felt most comfortable airing his racists views in private and then public, but don’t think the crazy ownership has ended now Donald Sterling isn’t in control anymore.

That’s right, Steve Ballmer is the new owner of the Clippers, and he’s just as crazy as Sterling is, albeit in a less offensive way.

You only need to type the Microsoft man’s name into Google alongside speech, and you will get what I mean. The man is insane. You can imagine him coming into the changing rooms of the Clippers and giving his team inspiration in a big moment.

Crazy comments

It’s unlikely that will happen, but you can see what I mean. But rather than letting his crazy speech side out, Ballmer is all about making crazy demands right now, with his latest comments not making happy reading for some Clippers' players.

Ballmer has always been a company and product loyal guy, going as far as to banning his own family from using Apple’s iPhones. So yes, that’s right; he’s banned his new family from them too.

“Most of the Clippers are on Windows, some of the players and coaches are not,” Ballmer told Reuters.

“And Doc [Rivers] kind of knows that’s a project. It’s one of the first things he said to me: ‘We are probably going to get rid of these iPads, aren’t we?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, we probably are.’ But I promised we would do it during the off season.”

Sterling saga

Now this is quite a crazy story, but nowhere near as crazy as Donald Sterling has acted this year. The banned former owner of the Clippers brought his team and the NBA into disrepute last season.

In a private conversation with a lady friend, Sterling made racist remarks about basketball greats such as Magic Johnson. As it turned out, the conversation had actually been recorded and the audio was leaked to TMZ.

Following the website’s release of the audio, Sterling was banned for life by the NBA, and eventually he was forced to sell the team on to Ballmer.

The crazy days are not over for Clippers players and fans, but at least the racist ones are.
