This week on NXT the Lucha Dragons made their first defence of their NXT Tag Team Championships in an NXT Takeover II rematch against former champions, The Ascension whilst Tyson Kidd is granted one final shot at the NXT Championship.

Last week on NXT we saw NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte defeat Emma whilst Hideo Itami marked his NXT debut with a victory over Justin Gabriel before being taken out by The Ascension.

Baron Corbin picked up another quick-yet-impressive victory over CJ Parker and in the main event Titus O’Neil teamed up with Tyson Kidd as they defeated the team of Sami Zayn and NXT Champion Adrian Neville; two superstars who look set to be at odds very soon.

Even though fans are most excited to see what will unfold between Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn, but unfortunately the duo were nowhere to be seen this week as the slow build continues but you can be sure they will clash very soon which means all attention is on the Lucha Dragons and their NXT Tag Team Championships.

Match One: Bull Dempsey vs. Mojo Rawley

Kicking off with another match between Mojo Rawley and Bull Dempsey and so far Dempsey has left Mojo Rawley with no chance of victory. This ended in similar fashion although the action kicked off in the aisle before Rawley actually got in most of the offense as the bell rang.

But that didn’t last long as Dempsey hit the top rope headbutt to defeat Mojo Rawley inside a minute.

Result: Bull Dempsey defeats Mojo Rawley

After the match it looks as if a new feud is igniting, as Tyler Breeze looks set to move away from the title picture and focus his attention on Mojo Rawley and attacks him after the match.

We also get a video package of the impressive Baron Corbin, where he talks about being a different breed to the current stars on NXT whilst hopping on a motorcycle; interesting stuff from a character who can have a lot of success on NXT.

Match Two: Justin Gabriel vs. Tyler Breeze

After his attack on Mojo Rawley, Tyler Breeze is thrown into action straight away as he takes on Justin Gabriel in what was a good, short match with fast-paced action. Breeze started off strong but Gabriel targeted his knee, he hits the STO and a springboard splash for a two count before missing the 450 splash; Breeze then followed it up with a Beauty Shot for the victory.

Result: Tyler Breeze defeats Justin Gabriel

Backstage we see Natalya talking to NXT General Manager, William Regal and practically begs Regal to give her husband Tyson Kidd another shot at the NXT Championship. He stalls but eventually grants Kidd one final chance at the championship; can he finally pull it off this time?

Match Three: Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley

Divas action next in another fast-paced match between two impressive divas. Bayley started off strong in the corner but Alexa Bliss didn’t go down without a fight, hitting a sunset flip before falling victim to an armbar. She missed the standing moonsault and received a Bayley to Belly for her troubles. After Bayley’s win, she called out Charlotte and asks for one more match and the fans are definitely wanting this rematch. The champion does come out and says Bayley earned her respect but the second verse will be the same as the first, but the rematch for the gold is on for next week.

Result: Bayley defeats Alexa Bliss

A segment with Enzo Amore and Big Cass and we are the WWE Performance Center with the duo and NXT diva, Carmella. They try to make her into an NXT diva and are obviously impressed with her physique, leading to Big Cass asking “How you doin?” whilst Enzo falls off his treadmill whilst staring.

Match Four: Enzo Amore vs. Marcus Louis

After some talk about pies and the usual ‘SAWFT’ shenanigans, Louis starts off strong and knocks Enzo to the apron but Enzo is a step ahead and rips off his wig, rolling him up for the win.

Result: Enzo Amore defeats Marcus Louis

Before the championship main event we see Tyson Kidd who says he will get his own championship match and he has all of the power heading into it.

Main Event (NXT Tag Team Championships): The Lucha Dragons © vs. The Ascension

A highly anticipated rematch where The Ascension look determined to not only take the gold but slay the Lucha Dragons in the process. The Ascension dominate most of the match up and any new fan would look at this and believe The Ascension would win this match.

Towards the end Konnor launched Kalisto across the ring before Konnor locks in a body scissors to keep Kalisto at bay. Viktor goes for a huge uppercut but Kalisto slips away and tags in his partner to no avail as The Ascension take out both men. Hideo Itami makes an appearance and distracts The Ascension as Kalisto hits the Salida Del Sol on Viktor for the victory to retain their titles as The Ascension chased Itami away to conclude this week’s episode.

Result: The Lucha Dragons defeat The Ascention – Still NXT Tag Team Champions.
