Going into the first of the 2014 NFL International Series at Wembley Stadium this week the main talking point has been that of the Dolphins quarterback situation.

With Ryan Tannehill having a nightmare start to the season many Dolphins fans are calling for backup QB Matt Moore to be named starter.

Philbin: I'm The Boss

Tannehill came out in the Dolphins press conference on Wednesday and announced that he was starting after Head Coach Joe Philbin refused to name a starter:

"(I'm) taking the first snap of the game and playing the game," Tannehill said.

However during the Dolphins first media commitments after landing in London on friday morning, Philbin did shed a bit of light on the situation:

"The policy I told you about, the thought process I go through every single week is exactly the same, the chart that Jason releases those guys are going to be starters until I announce something different so thats one way to answer the question."

Hard Worker

Those who watched HBO's Hardknocks prior to the 2013 season will remember that Tannehill is a very hard worker off the field and takes all aspects of the game very seriously. Philbin was asked if he had noticed anything different with Tannehill's training regime this week, to which he replied:

"Ryan throughout his career has been very consistent he comes into the building early he stays late, he spends time on his film studies and you see on a continual basis so i see this every week"

Philbin also said that he had been in touch with owner to the Steve Ross:

"I spoke to him a number of times this week"

Philbin wasn't giving much away but if he has been in contact with the owner regarding the QB situation and Tannehill is still top of the depth chart then he’s obviously on board with Philbin's decision and is behind Ryan Tannehill - for the moment.

Last Chance

So whilst it looks as though Tannehill has the backing of his coach and owner going into the match at Wembley Stadium, another failure this weekend - especially considering the 0-3 opposition in the Oakland Raiders - could mean he finds himself with the clipboard come week six.
