Arsene Wenger was dealt another double injury blow after Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey both limped off during Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Saturday.

The Gunners boss confirmed the pair will miss the midweek Champions League clash against Galatasaray as well as next weekend's visit to Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Arsenal were already short on options in defence ahead of yesterday's crunch clash at the Emirates, and now their problems have extended into the midfield area as Wenger's squad is increasingly ravaged by injury.

Unsurprisingly then, the French tactician is being linked with a number of reinforcements when the transfer window reopens, with the Sunday People reporting that a bid for Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Marcelo Brozovic is being lined up in January.

The 21-year-old Croatia international was watched by two senior Gunners scouts during the recent derby clash against Hajduk Split three weeks ago, and after returning favourable reports a formal bid is expected to be lodged at the turn of the year.
