Following his match with Chris Jericho at Night of Champions last weekend, it has been reported that Randy Orton is not happy with the treatment he has received from WWE of late.
According to Daily Wrestling News, Orton has been performing as he has been asked to and sticking to the script, but it is behind the scenes that his true feelings with regard to his character development have become clear.
It is rumoured that he feels unhappy and is looking to take some time off from WWE in order to revive his energy for wrestling again.
Daily Wrestling News stated: "While he’s still headlining events, Randy Orton has not been a big factor in WWE in recent weeks and this has him unhappy. As a result, he recently asked management about taking some time away from the ring by the end of the year in order to rejuvenate.”
The Viper is not alone in being a WWE superstar who is disappointed with the company in recent months.
With CM Punk the most obvious example, other professional wrestlers such as Rey Mysterio, Batista and Alberto Del Rio have had documented disagreements with WWE.
In addition, this is not the first instance of Orton being supposedly unhappy with the inndustry. Earlier this month, RingSide News reported that Orton was feeling worn out following his increase in appearances after CM Punk's departure not to mention several WWE superstars sustaining injuries.
RingSide News reported: "It is said that the absences of Daniel Bryan and Batista is standing in the way of Orton being granted some time off. To pacify him, Orton has been told that his character will be emphasized more on television. This probably won’t satisfy him though.”
With rumours of the main event match at Hell in a Cell involving the likes of Orton, John Cena, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, it seems WWE will indeed be focusing more on The Viper but whether this will please him enough is a different matter.
