Chelsea scouts have an unenviable task keeping track the 26 loanees under contract to the Blues but out playing across the continent, but Lucas Piazon made sure the report on his progress definitely reached Jose Mourinho's desk last weekend with a truly spectacular strike from distance.
Piazon is spending the season developing in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, stepping up a level in quality after shining in the Eredivise with familiar Chelsea feeder club Vitesse Arnhem last term.
The 20-year-old has settled quickly with Frankfurt and opened his account for the club in some style on Sunday afternoon, belting home a quite incredible free-kick from range in the 89th minute.
Hamburg hearts broken by Chelsea stalet
Frankfurt needed something sensational to settle a tight clash with struggling Hamburg and with the match finely poised at 1-1 up stepped Piazon, drilling his set piece in home in a style reminiscent of former Chelsea star David Luiz.
Mourinho and co. will surely sit up and take notice of the Brazilian playmaker's effort, a genuine goal of the season contender even at this early stage of the campaign.
The tremendous strike was a dagger to the hearts of Hamburg fans, who finally scored their first Bundesliga goal of the season but still had nothing to show for their efforts in terms of points.
Blues fans have plenty of reason to watch the Bundesliga
Piazon is just one excuse for Chelsea fans to keep a close eye on German football this season. Blues have four players on loan in the Bundesliga, including Piazon and Eden Hazard's younger brother Thorgan, who is spending the season at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Promising defender Tomas Kalas and Spanish midfielder enforcer Oriol Romeu are also with Cologne and Stuttgart respectively, but there's no question that thanks to his spectacular last-ditch drive from distance it's Piazon who will be earning plaudits from Blues scouts this week.
