As one of the principle owners of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon has kept tight lipped about anything concerning former superstar CM Punk since he left the company back in January.
That is until now, the former Women's champion appeared on WGN Morning News in America to promote tonight's Raw in CM Punk's hometown of Chicago, Illinois and the inevitable question of the estranged superstar was raised.
Never Say Never
Stephanie was asked whether she thought he would ever return and she simply responded "never say never." This is the same response many superstars have stated when asked about any inside information they may have on the Chicago native.
Whether this is something WWE have decided as the appropriate response to the on-going questions about "the best in the world" or not is something which is up for discussion, but Stephanie's answer is going to cause some discussion on Social Media.
Royal Rumble Return?
The current on-going rumour is that the former champion will be returning to WWE at the 2015 Royal Rumble as a surprise participant along with Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Batista, but many are thinking that Punk could make a return even sooner than that to be sure of a place on the road to Wrestlemania.
Rumours mean very little in WWE, though because CM Punk himself does seem happy to not be wrestling and is currently enjoying hosting red carpet events and controlling his own calendar without having to worry about injuries and having to wrestle with as many problems.
If CM Punk did return at the Royal Rumble, then he would have had a year off to reflect, refresh himself and heal so that he will be back on top of his game and will finally be able to fight for the place he wants in the main event of Wrestlemania.
Although the self proclaimed Best in the world has said in many interviews that he has no desire to return to WWE even though his wife, current Divas Champion AJ Lee is still a big part of the roster and is of on tour with WWE throughout the year.
This latest omission from Stephanie will give many WWE fans hope leading into WWE's lowest rated pay-per-views before they pick up again after Christmas, but the fact that one of the principle owners and the wife of Triple H (Who is rumoured to hate CM Punk) isn't sure herself that Punk wont return, is great news for WWE fans and will lead to a lot more rumours in the coming weeks.
