Roma star Gervinho is in confident mood ahead of his sides clash with Manchester City in the Champions League.
The former Arsenal man has been in flying form since moving to Serie A at the start of last season and he's confident his team has what it takes to beat the Premier League champions.
Roma currently sit top of group E and Gervinho has every faith in his sides chances of holding on to top spot beyond tonight's fixture.
A look back at opening night makes it easy to see why - the Ivory Coast international bagged a brace as his side beat CSKA Moscow 5-1 in a dominating display.
Roma have had a fantastic start to the season, boasting a 100% Serie A record after five games, and Gervinho's pre-match comments are reflective of a man, and team, brimming with confidence.
He told reporters: "I can't think of any good reason why we should be scared of Manchester City - I don't see why we should fear Bayern Munich either.
"The way we are playing this season - there is no reason to think we can't beat anybody. The only team that we need to concentrate or think about is ourselves."
As the only team in the group not to have won their domestic title last season, Roma could have been forgiven for being coy over their chances, but Gervinho is anything but.
Roma could be forgiven for adopting a cautious approach away from home given the quality of opposition, but Gervinho insists they have loftier ambitions.
"It was important in such a difficult group that we won our opening game - but we will not be looking for just a point at Manchester City.
"The pressure is on them after losing their opening game - and we hope to take full advantage of that pressure - and leave Manchester with three points - which will put us in a great position to qualify," he declared.
Under the tutelage of Roma coach Rudi Garcia, Gervinho has looked a different player to the one who struggled for confidence at Arsenal, and his Champions League ambitions suggest he's now full of it.
The winger said: "We want to win this group. We understand with the quality in the group that it will not be easy to win - but with the form that we are on anything is possible. Not just to win the group - but also to win The Champions League.
"There is a lot of belief in this team at the moment - and we feel it is something we can achieve."
