To be a global sports superstar. It's a dream that virtually everyone on the planet has at one point in time, though very few actually ever realise it.

The likes of LeBron James, Cristiano Ronaldo and Floyd Mayweather have all achieved the aforesaid status in their respective careers, and routinely inspire millions with their endeavours each year.

But what happens when they are gone? When the current crop of world-beating talents step down or hang up their gloves or boots, who will replace them?

We'e decided to have a crack at determining just that, and separating the pretenders from the true future champions, as it were.

Here we've attempted to line-up the five sporting superstars of tomorrow, based on what we know already, and the way we expect things to play out in the future.

When we say superstar we really mean superstar. No No.2 seeds, or close runners-up need apply. Click on the 'begin slideshow' button to see our selections.
