Manchester United are set to poach Southampton first-team physio Matt Radcliffe, according to the Daily Mail.
It's been suggested that Radcliffe - who has worked under a number of managers throughout his tenure at the Saints - will join the Red Devils after this weekend's round of fixtures.
It's expected, then, that Radcliffe will take to the Southampton bench this weekend as the club travel to White Hart Lane to take on former manager Mauricio Pochettino. However, it appears that the highly rated physio will then head to Old Trafford to help Manchester United under Louis van Gaal.
Having worked with the likes of Nigel Adkins and Pochettino, Radcliffe will surely be relishing the next chapter of his career.
He will replace ex-United physio Rob Swire who retired in the summer, while the same report has suggested that the appointment is not related to the change of role for fitness coach Tony Strudwick.
United injury crisis
Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping that Radcliffe helps the club overcome their current injury crisis. The Red Devils have as many as 11 players out on the sidelines through injury, and have been struggling in that department all season long.
As it stands, the likes of Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Jonny Evans and Co. are all on the sidelines, as the club's back luck continues on the injury front.
Radcliffe will certainly have his work cut out at Carrington when he completes the switch from Southampton, but it will certainly prove an exciting step up in his career.
He will be reunited with youngster Luke Shaw who left the Saints this past summer. The England international has endured a tricky start at United because of injury, but made his competitive debut for the first team last week in the club's 2-1 victory over West Ham.
Manchester United's immediate attention will turn to this weekend's clash with Everton as the Red Devils look to secure back-to-back wins under Louis van Gaal for the first time. Van Gaal will be hoping that Phil Jones returns to the defence after his recent injury, but United will be without club captain Wayne Rooney who will miss the game through suspension.
