Danny Rose is a doubt for Tottenham's Europa League tie with Besiktas at White Hart Lane, reports the club's official website.
The left-back - called up for the recent England internationals by Roy Hodgson - was substituted after 82 minutes in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal on Saturday and, despite receiving treatment on the pitch and after the final whistle, the Leeds United academy graduate looks set to miss out for Thursday's clash.
It is doubtful Rose would have played anyway, with Ben Davies match time in the cups and the latter perforimg in the league but the Englishman's absence could allow the summer signing from Swansea a chance to cement a place in Mauricio Pochettino's first-choice XI.
Pochettino has made large-scale changes from the weekend teams to the midweek squads, and against the Turkish giants this pattern should continue. The likes of Roberto Soldado, Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend, Mousa Dembele, Federico Fazio and Michel Vorm could all come back into the starting line-up having missed out at the Emirates.
The only other player to miss out is long-term absentee Kyle Walker, who continues his recovery from abdominal surgery.
