This Champions League matchweek saw some dominating performances, some close calls for big teams and some underdogs beating big teams.
Dortmund and Arsenal put in dominating performances to beat Anderlecht and Galatasaray respectively. Ludogorets nearly pulled off a big upset against European champions Real Madrid while Basel got a big scalp by beating Liverpool.
Here we take a look at the big matches of this matchweek involving the big and popular teams.
1) Ludogorets vs Real Madrid
A late Karim Benzema strike saw Real Madrid overcome Ludogorets 2-1. A highly entertaining match where Cristiano Ronaldo both missed and scored from the penalty spot, Ludogorets showed fighting spirit and the Bulgarian champions should surely be proud of themselves.
This match should go a long way to ensuring that Real Madrid progress in the CL though Ludogorets are team which won everyone's hearts.
Star - Marcelinho for giving Ludogorets the shock lead and then being resolute in defence.
Flop - Javier Hernandez for failing to convert his first CL start for Los Blancos into goals.
Rating - 4/5 for a classic underdog vs champion match
2) Atletico Madrid vs Juventus
A closely fought encounter at the Calderón was settled by a second half Arda Turan strike with Atletico Madrid prevailing over Juventus by a solitary goal. It was a tight and scrappy match where the two teams were only separated through beautiful assist put in by Juanfran.
Star - Juanfran for a decisive assist as well as being a key component of a rock solid defence.
Flop - Carlos Tevez for deceiving once again on a CL night and ensuring that Moya had no taxing work to do all night
Rating - 3/5 for a tense and scrappy affair which could have gone either way
3) Arsenal vs Galatasaray
We got to witness a passing masterclass at the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal completely dominating Galatasaray in a 4-1 rout of the Turkish team.
The performance was only marred by a red card to keeper Wojciech Szczesny. An experienced manager like Cesare Prandelli must surely take such a big performance to heart and make sure that the team are able to play fluidly if they hope to progress in Europe this season
Star - Danny Welbeck for a memorable hat-trick which should go a long way in reminding Manchester United what they're missing out on and ensure that the absence of Olivier Giroud isn't such a blow.
Flop - Wojciech Szczęsny for an unnecessary red card which is sure to give headaches to Arsene Wenger and give David Ospina a chance to impress the Frenchman.
Rating - 3.5/5 for a highly entertaining though one sided match where Arsenal showed their experience and maturity at the European level.
