Chelsea news: Rio Ferdinand rejected move to Stamford Bridge

Published Add your comment

Rio Ferdinand has sensationally revealed that he previously turned down an offer from Chelsea, choosing instead to join Leeds United from boyhood club West Ham back in the year 2000. The former Manchester United defender - who currently plays for QPR - made the claim in his new autobiography 2sides, which was officially released on sale to the public on Thursday. Ferdinand explained that he rejected the chance to move to Stamford Bridge because he needed to get away from 'the bright lights' of the capital, and focus on his football.
