Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been rushed to hospital following a collision with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, according to the Daily Star.

The Belgian international - who was playing in his first London derby against the Gunners - had to be replaced in the early stages of the game by experienced ace Petr Cech.

Tests

And now it appears that precautionary tests are being done on the shot-stopper after he drew blood from his ear. There certainly didn't appear to be any intent from Sanchez as the pair came together, and now Chelsea fans will be hoping the 'keeper makes a speedy recovery.

Cech, meanwhile, is currently keeping a clean sheet against the Gunners, as the Blues are leading by two goals to nil with 12 minutes of the game remaining.

Goalkeeping dilemma

It remains to be seen as to whether Courtois will be out of action for some time, but Cech is certainly a strong back-up for Mourinho. Opinion is still divided on which star should be the club's No.1, so perhaps Courtois' injury will give Cech the chance to shine between the sticks.
