Arsenal Transfer News: Wilfried Bony dismisses talk of Gunners move

Published Add your comment

The future of Swansea City star Wilfried Bony has never looked all too assured at the Liberty Stadium, particularly given the interest from clubs competing in the Champions League. Over the course of the summer months it was expected that he would become the new forward at either Liverpool or Arsenal, following an excellent first campaign in the Premier League last term. In the end no transfer materialised, with neither club submitting a satisfactory offer to Swansea. However Bony has revealed that a move perhaps came far closer than many believed, claiming that he could have made a switch had he wanted to. Though the Ivory Coast striker did admit that interest from the likes of Liverpool never went past the point of speculation he conceded that he might well have left the Swans, stating: “If I wanted to go, I would have done.”
