It has emerged that WWE face an uphill battle to secure the services of The Rock for WrestleMania 31 after it was revealed this week that he is well and truly in WWE's plans for next April's showpiece event.
The Rock stunned the WWE Universe earlier this week when he appeared on Monday Night Raw in Manhattan, and speculation is now rife that he will be appearing at WrestleMania 31, but recent developments mean WWE will find it hard to book The Rock for the event, according to reports.
The Rock is definitely interested in appearing at WrestleMania 31, but it has been reported that WWE will face stiff competition for his services next year. This is because The Rock is now a huge movie star and reports suggest that WWE's main problem in booking him will be down to pressure from movie studios.
Personnel in Hollywood are worried about The Rock's track-record of getting injured when he goes back for his pay-per-view one-off performances in WWE.
We have seen The Rock suffer injuries in both of his matches against John Cena, with the second of those injuries forcing the superstar to have surgery, which in turn severely delayed the shooting of his movie Hercules.
Still likely to compete
But despite these issues, it is highly likely that if The Rock wants to perform at WrestleMania 31, he will do so. Vince McMahon has always said that WWE will always have a place for The Rock, and McMahon is bound to do everything he can to get the People's Champion on board for the showpiece event.
Rumors are swirling around at the moment about who The Rock could potentially face at WrestleMania 31. The two strongest rumors so far have been the possibility of him facing Rusev, with the other being an epic match-up between The Rock and Triple H.
We will have to wait and see whether The Rock is announced for WrestleMania 31, but if he is, expect a hugely positive reaction from the WWE Universe.
