It has been one of the burning questions in the NFL for the last few years, will there be an NFL franchize based in London in the next few years?
There have been many different claims about which franchise may move and where they could play, all the while the NFL International Series has continued to sky-rocket in popularity.
This is the first time in history that there have been three regular season NFL games played at the home of the England national football team, but could that be set to rise?
With the concept that an NFL team could be located in London is a prospect that every British American Football fan will be hoping to see come true in the future.
There have been many thoughts about where a London based franchise would play with the Olympic Stadium which was constructed for the 2012 Olympics being a new potential home.
But now it seems like they may have a home ready in waiting for their prospective team.
Out with the old, in with the new
Since opening in 2007, Wembley Stadium has been the home of the England national football team and it is contracted to stay that way until 2017.
But it has now been announced that the FA has made a priority of securing an NFL franchise based at Wembley Stadium.
The FA currently own the stadium and a deal to secure a permanent NFL franchise could be a lucrative earner for them.
There are three NFL games at Wembley this season and they are expected to bring in £3 million in revenue per game.
Therefore a season of eight NFL games at Wembley could bring in a massive £24 million if attendance figures hold.
What next for England?
Well an NFL team based at Wembley could see the national football team forced out of the stadium and enter a familiar phase.
Wembley managing director Roger Maslin said last year: "Football is our priority. But, yes, I'm absolutely confident that if the NFL wanted to have franchise here then we could absolutely do it."
During the years that the new Wembley was being constructed, the England national team played in many different venues around the country, from Old Trafford in Manchester to St James Park in Newcastle.
So who knows what will happen in the future of Wembley, the England team and a future NFL franchise in London.
