West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce isn't exactly renowned for his charm and boyish good looks, given the fact he spends the majority of his time on the touchline at Upton Park giving the impression that he's stood chewing a wasp.
But, thanks to a picture that began circulating on the internet over the weekend, the Hammers head honcho seems to be building an unlikely reputation as a bit of a heartthrob, drawing comparisons to One Direction's primary pinup Harry Styles.
Allardyce boasted long flowing locks and an unblemished complexion during his early days as a young professional footballer (above left), which made him look like a dead-ringer for the modern day pop sensation.
Now aged 59, any resemblance he previously had with teen idol Styles is clearly long gone, probably thanks largely to the pressures of Premier League management that has taken its toll on the weathered West Ham man.
In fairness to Allardyce, his usual fears have been temporarily allayed, as the Hammers have actually performed quite well in the early part of the 2014/15 campaign, picking up ten points from their opening seven games which places them in seventh spot in the table.
A number of new signings over the summer has gone some way to strengthening the first-team squad in east London, allowing the team to play with a bit more panache and verve that is regularly showcased by the Allardyce doppelgänger and his five-piece band of merry young men.
Fat Sam - as he is now more commonly known - will probably have enjoyed the recent fanfare surrounding his undeniably delectable appearance in years gone by, but for Styles the discovery is more likely to be a worrying look into the future at how he might present in later life.
Enjoy it while you can, Harry!
