Sir Alex Ferguson has given an extensive interview to MUTV and, in it, the former Manchester United manager fielded questions on a variety of topics, including his relationship with incumbent Louis van Gaal.

Ferguson and Van Gaal have known each other for decades having encounter one another at various points over their respective career and, as expected, the latter does not feel the need to call on the Old Trafford icon for regular advice.

Ferguson was also pressed to offer his assessment on the club’s new signings, with £150 million being spent on player acquisitions over the summer months, and he was impressed by those to have arrived at Old Trafford.

He also revealed that Luke Shaw, a signing made by Van Gaal, was a target of his own before he lowered the curtain on his illustrious career Manchester United.


Manchester United to hand David de Gea lucrative new contract

David de Gea is set to be rewarded for his growing importance in the Manchester United team by being an offered an enormous new contract in a bid to keep Real Madrid at bay.

The Champions League winners have been linked with a move for De Gea, but his current employers will be hoping an offer to double his wages will convince the Spaniard to remain at Old Trafford.


Angel di Maria left Real Madrid over pay demands

Angel di Maria was allowed to leave Real Madrid for Manchester United during the summer transfer window due to his excessive wage demands, it has been claimed by manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Argentina international was a British record signing for United but, says Ancelotti, the deal was only made possible because he asked for more money than Madrid were prepared to pay.


Manchester United prepare January bid for Nigel de Jong

Louis van Gaal will look to reinforce his midfield in the January transfer window and it could be the Nigel de Jong, a player he worked with at international level, is the player to provide that extra steel.

De Jong is out of contract with AC Milan at the end of the season, and United are prepared to test the resolve of the Italian club to keep the player at the San Siro.

Manchester United completed the notable and unexpected capture of Radamel Falcao from Monaco in the final stages of the summer transfer window to enhance an already formidable front line.

The club already have Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie among their esteemed number but, it has been claimed, that in Falcao they have been able to recruit the ‘most complete’ player ever.
