Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett feels flattered to find out that his team have a big celebrity fan in the form of music legend Paul McCartney.
McCartney a Cowboy
The English musician was hosting a concert on Monday night at the American Airlines Center, while conversing with the audience during songs, McCartney showed his NFL allegiance by bellowing: "How 'bout them Cowboys!"
Now shout-outs don't get much bigger and better than coming from the former-Beatle, head coach Jason Garrett spoke at a press conference on Wednesday about feeling honoured by the love sent from McCartney.
Garrett said: "I think it's fantastic, He's certainly an iconic figure on this planet and has been for nearly 50 years now. I'm certainly a big fan."
An unknown side of the 48-year-old head coach is his appreciation for historic music and legendary artists, especially from the 60's era.
Garrett has made it public knowledge that he is a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan but interestingly wrote his thesis at Princeton University on another iconic figure, Bob Dylan.
He was then asked at the press conference whether his Dallas Cowboy players would even know who McCartney is, he responded:
"If they don't know about him they should know about him, because he's certainly made a huge difference on this planet for the last half a century, He's something else. I think that's a nice thing for us."
McCartney is not the only famous fan to show his support for the Dallas Cowboys recently, NBA superstar LeBron James proudly displayed his Cowboy pride with a recent Instagram post.
James is well known fan of the Cowboys and can often be seen alongside Owner Jerry Jones when the King visits Dallas.
Obviously with the recent history of the Cowboys not being too glamorous, James took advantage of the outstanding 5-1 start by his team in order to gloat about their current success.
Alongside a picture of himself wearing a Dallas T-Shirt combined with cap, James said: "When someone says 'Man your Cowboys stink!!' I say 'Yeah I know we do sitting at 5-1. Hahaha' #WeDemBoyz #StriveForGreatness."
