Much to the disappointment of the Aston Villa fans, Fabian Delph is set to be on the sideline for up to two months.
The 24-year-old midfielder is set to receive surgery due to a dislocated shoulder after falling awkwardly in training yesterday. This will be a massive loss to Villa boss Paul Lambert at a crucial time in the season, with 11 games still to play before Christmas.
"It's a nightmare. Nobody was near him when he did it. He fell on his shoulder and we need to get it checked out," the Villa boss said.
"We don't know how bad it is or whether resting it for a couple of weeks is enough," Lambert said yesterday.
It will not only be a loss to Lambert, but also to Roy Hodgson. Delph has been a part of Englands starting 11 recently in the Euro 2016 qualifiers against both Switzerland and Estonia. However, he is set to miss the next qualifier against Slovenia.
Delph will be hoping for a speedy recovery, with Villa travelling to Goodison Park to face Everton tomorrow.
