WWE: Curtis Axel and Ryback set for wrestling return

Published 1 Comments

The tag team of Curtis Axel and Ryback are set to be back on WWE TV soon after Ryback's successful recovery from hernia surgery.

The two former Paul Heyman guys would be a refreshing addition to the current WWE tag team roster after matches including The Usos and Gold and Stardust have become the usual match to expect each week on Raw.

Hunting for belts

Since The Usos dropped their titles to the strange brothers at Night of Champions it seems the tag team division has run out of places to go. The rumoured debut for The Ascension is still yet to happen and as mentioned before, it seems the two sets of brothers are the only two tag teams on the hunt for the belts at the moment.

Axel and Ryback were on the hunt for the title a few months ago and were even part of the fatal four way on the kick off show for this years Wrestlemania. But they didn't pick up the titles and when Ryback decided to under go surgery for a few niggling injures and a hernia a few months ago, WWE decided to keep his tag team partner off TV as well so that at the two could return at the same time when Ryback was recovered.

Time to cash in

The Usos will obviously cash in their tag team championship rematch at Hell in a Cell this coming Sunday, but if they fail to lift the titles that they once held then it will open up the division for Axel and Ryback to make their return and go after the titles once more.

There was a lot of heat on Ryback a few months ago because of some of the comments he was making on Twitter and it seemed at one point he had been released, but this was just the "big man" using Social Media to his advantage and the superstars backstage decided that he was crazy and should be left to his own devices.

The news of their return comes off the back of the sad news that Daniel Bryan wont be able to return at The Royal Rumble, which is now a 40 man battle royal. WWE need all the superstars they can get back and firing on all cylinders ahead of the start of the road to Wrestlemania 31 and even though they have a few big names out injured at the moment, the fact that some of the mid-card talent is returning means that feuds can be opened up and extended further than they have been in recent weeks.
