It has certainly been a busy couple of days for the Manning family after star Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning broke the NFL record for touchdowns on Sunday.
Peyton surpassed Brett Favre's previous record of 508 with his third TD pass in the Broncos 42-17 rout of the 49ers, with stud receiver Demaryius Thomas the deserved recipient of Manning's record pass.
More Manning headlines
But fast-forward to today, and this time Peyton's dad Archie was in the news after he made the decision to quit the College Football playoff committee, with executive director Bill Hancock admitting he will miss Archie.
Colt McCoy steps up
Sticking with the NFL, and Washington third-string quarterback Colt McCoy came up with a sublime performance to guide the Redskins to a 19-17 victory over Tennessee Titans yesterday.
McCoy took over at the start of the second half and completed 11 of 12 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Not too shabby.
Bizarre MLB story

LeBron returned to the Cavs this summer after four years with the Miami Heat, but James explained that during his first with the Cavs, he tried and failed to entice players to Cleveland.
Well that's all for today, check back tomorrow for more.
