WWE Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has a huge decision to make in the next few months. Does he want to stay in WWE and sign a new contract or does he want to return back to UFC? There have been plenty of reports that suggest that a return to UFC is on the cards for the Heavyweight Champion, and UFC President Dana White says he would welcome back Brock Lesnar with open arms.
Eventually Lesnar will make his decision on whether he wants to continue in WWE, but for now everyone in wrestling is holding their breath. Last time Lesnar was in UFC, he fought through the pain of diverticulitis, with White insisting that a fully fit Brock would be something to behold.
UFC return on the cards
“I have a great relationship with Brock, we talk all the time,” White told UFC.com. “I don’t know, we’ll see. If he wants to fight, he knows my number. It’s pretty amazing what he did and accomplished here while having diverticulitis. It would be interesting to see a 100 percent healthy Brock Lesnar compete.”
This news is something that will worry WWE fans and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The wrestling company have put a lot of faith in Brock Lesnar's character over the last few months as the powerful wrestler has ploughed his way through some of WWE's best. The Undertaker was the first big name to feel the wrath of Lesnar after he destroyed The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak in April. And if that wasn't good enough, Brock Lesnar's brutal beating of John Cena at SummerSlam cemented the beast's reputation as a wrestler currently on another level.
Huge blow for WWE
Losing Lesnar would be a huge blow for WWE. To put so much faith in a wrestler that has pretty much destroyed all of his opponents this year and have him leave for a big rival in sports entertainment would be a tough pill to swallow for WWE's top brass.
Expect an announcement of some kind from Brock Lesnar soon on whether or not he will sign a new WWE contract. One of the alleged sticking points for Lesnar at the moment seems to be the details in his new contract, which are understood to include clauses that will enable WWE to book him more regularly for shows.
Sooner rather than later Lesnar will make his decision. In the meantime, watch this space.
