Saint-Etienne are trying to tie up the future of wonderkid Allan Saint-Maximin because they are afraid he could be poached by the likes of Arsenal and AC Milan.
Saint-Maximin was tipped for big things in the future by ASSE, but has been a revelation this season and has made himself a regular part of the first team in Ligue 1.
However, according to Le10Sport, the 17-year-old attacker’s form as caught the eye of scouts out of Emirates Stadium and San Sir, which is not being welcomed by ASSE as they have been stung in the past by interest from Europe’s biggest clubs in their young stars.
Chelsea snapped up promising defender Kurt Zouma for £12million in the January transfer window, before loaning him back to the Ligue 1 club for the remainder of last season. The powerful defender is now staying at Stamford Bridge and is providing back-up for both Gary Cahill and John Terry.
The report claims that Arsenal would have to pay in the region of €7million if they are serious about signing Saint-Maximin, but with the reported interest of the likes of AC Milan and Juventus it would be little surprise if the price goes up.

Arsene Wenger is famous for recruiting young from his native country, but ASSE are determined not to lose one of their most promising prospects to the Arsenal manager this time around.
holding on to such a talented player is unlikely in the long run
Le10Sport claim that the French club are doing all they can to try and agree a new deal with the winger. Such are the finances of clubs in Ligue 1 who aren’t PSG or AS Monaco, holding on to such a talented player is unlikely in the long run, but the fee may be greater if they can hold on to him for a couple more seasons.
