Manchester United have been told they will not be beating the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona to the signing of talented young midfielder Daley Sinkgraven - but only because he isn't moving anywhere.
Reports over the weekend had claimed that Louis van Gaal was considering stepping up his interest in the 19-year-old Dutchman, as the Old Trafford boss was afraid he would lose out to bids from Anfield, Camp Nou or the Santiago Bernabeu.
Van Gaal reportedly asked scouts to obtain a comprehensive report on the Heerenveen star with a view to making a possible move for him, but the player himself has claimed he knows nothing about it.
I can't do that much about it because it's new to me
Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, with quotes being run by talkSPORT, Sinkgraven pleaded ignorance regarding any bid coming from Manchester United or any of the other teams mentioned.
"I've also read the reports. I can't do that much about it because it's new to me. My agent has said nothing about it. The only thing that he told me is if I do well then the clubs will naturally come," he said.

While he may be denying any knowledge of an offer coming in from the likes of Old Trafford and Anfield, there was some small encouragement for the Premier League duo if they decide a transfer is something they want to explore.
Sinkgraven doesn't rule out the possibility of a future move and his performances for the Eredivisie side so far this season would make a big money switch to clubs as big as Barcelona and Real Madrid not much of a surprise.
Sinkgraven is happy to take the ball while under pressure win congested areas
He is a versatile attacking midfielder, able to play out wide or in the middle, but his attributes are likely to see him flourish in a central role. While he has good dribbling skills and enjoys taking on defenders, the most impressive thing about him is his passing range.
So much potential
Blessed with sublime natural balance, Sinkgraven is happy to take the ball while under pressure win congested areas and possesses impressive vision for a forward pass. Playing in a better team with more potent strikers would likely see him pick up a good number of assists.
As with any potential young Dutch star, Manchester United and Liverpool will have to fight off the interest of Ajax if they decide to make a move. However, the original report of Old Trafford interest suggests Van Gaal's reputation for developing young talent could prove persuasive in any negotiations.
