Chelsea will look to bounce back from their ultimately disappointing draw against Manchester United when they go up against Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
The Blues are undefeated this season in all competitions, and are heavy favourites to continue that good run of form at New Meadow. Although the game should offer up a fairly straight-forward victory for Jose Mourinho's men, they will have to be wary of not having one eye on their weekend fixture against local rivals QPR on Saturday.
Manchester United paid the price of underestimating their opponents previously in this competition and Chelsea won't want to make the same mistake, especially as they finished last season without any silverware. That marked the second straight trophy-less season for boss Jose Mourinho and he'll certainly be prioritising cup competitions this season because of that.
The Special One will still make changes for the game in order to help his key players avoid burn-out. Diego Costa won't be risked and Cesc Fabregas will also be allowed to sit this one too.
Petr Cech will be put in goal in an attempt by Mourinho to give him game time in the face of competition from Thibaut Courtois, and the veteran shotstopper will be hoping to put in a strong performance.
Mourinho will have his hand forced by a shortage of defenders - both Cesar Azpilicueta and Branislav Ivanovic are suspended for the game having been sent off in the league in recent weeks. That should mean that Filipe Luis will continue to deputise and Nathan Ake could be drafted in. Youngster Kurt Zouma should also feature.
Further forward the likes of Willian should be given a chance to shine, but Chelsea's lack of options up top could mean Andre Schurrle is asked to lead the line.
Chelsea predicted line up: Cech, Ake, Luis, Zouma, Cahill, Ramires, Baker, Willain, Oscar, Salah, Solanke
