The New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills went head to head on Sunday and as bad as it got on the field for the Jets, the Bills suffered most off of it.
Tensions are high around the green half of the MetLife stadium these days as the Bills slumped to a 1-7 record after losing to the Bills yesterday.
The fans are understandably aggrieved with their players, coaches and now seemingly, any opposition fan in the stands.
There was an altercation behind the endzone at the MetLife on Sunday as a Bills fans and a Jets fan brought boxing to the football stadium.
The Jets fan ended up knocking the Bills fan unconscious before scattering and leaving fellow surrounding fans to tend to his victim.
- Who should the New York Jets fire first?
- Geno Smith humiliated by Bills stars after game
- Sammy Watkins' hilarious celebration fail is a lesson for all rookies
With the Bills fan laid out across some of the chairs he was tended to by several fellow fans including one in a Jets jersey.
So clearly not all Jets fans are as vicious as the attacker as many showed sympathy and attempted to assist the injured fan.
The attacker was arrested and charged with simple assault whilst his victim was quoted as not having a "serious injury."
With the high level of CCTV in stadiums these days the entire incident was caught by multiple cameras including a fellow fan on his phone.
The video shows the disgraceful behaviour by both fans and a strict punishment should result in a deterring effect throughout other fan bases in the NFL.
Reason for despair
The Jets fan was clearly unhappy but its not very difficult to see why with his team currently one of the worst in the NFL.
The Jets are 1-7 and haven't won since their week one victory overt the Oakland Raiders, they currently have a seven game losing streak - tied with the Raiders for the worst in the NFL.
It doesn't get easier for the Jets who now face a trip to face the 4-3 Kansas City Chiefs who are coming off the back of a big win over the St Louis Rams.
The biggest problem for the Jets comes at Quarterback as their starter Geno Smith threw three interceptions in the first quarter against Buffalo and has now been replaced by Michael Vick.
Vick arrived in the off-season from the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jets fans have been asking for the NFL veteran to take over for a few weeks now.
