Jose Mourinho has never been one to keep his views and opinions to himself. It's just not in his genetic makeup, the same way that calmly dressing down his players wasn't in Sir Alex Ferguson's.
That being said The Special One will have ruffled more than just a few feathers with his comments made yesterday after the narrow victory of minnows Shrewsbury Town. It took a Didier Drogba effort and a late own-goal to see Mourinho's men through to the Capital One Cup fifth round, and the Blues boss naturally less than impressed.
It was the second-string 'fringe players' who were given the chance to stake a claim for first-team selection in the weeks to come on the night and, though they managed to get the result, they left their coach bitterly disappointed.
Mourinho himself replied with "yes" when asked if he felt let down by the performances of certain individuals on the night, and highlighted the fact that players vying to catch his eye had wasted their moment in the sun.
Naturally though the Portuguese manager left plenty to be speculated about, by refusing to clarify exactly which players he was specifically talking about.
