Jose Mourinho was critical of some of his fringe Chelsea players in the wake of their narrow escape to Shrewsbury Town in the Capital One Cup in mid-week.
So expect the Chelsea manager to turn back to his first-choice picks when QPR visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues have the opportunity to put further distance between themselves and Manchester City as their biggest title rivals play on Sunday against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.
QPR got a positive result against Aston Villa on Monday night, moving the west London side off the bottom of the Premier League table.
Harry Redknapp will be hoping that Chelsea striker Diego Costa is not rushed back, although the Spain international is nearing fitness after missing the Manchester United game last weekend and could feature on Saturday.
- Gerard Pique to receive transfer offers
- Edinson Cavani settled in Paris
- Thorgan Hazard scores stunning goal
Likewise, Ramires is recovering well from his groin problem and may return to the squad. Loic Remy is still out, which means Didier Drogba will again lead the line if Costa is not ready to return.
The Ivorian scored against United at Old Trafford then again against Shrewsbury to make it three from three games, and Mourinho will not need to hurry Costa back into the lineup as Chelsea should have enough to see off QPR at home.
Defensively, Cesar Azpilicueta is still suspended so expect Branislav Ivanovic and Filipe Luis to continue in the full-back positions.
Gary Cahill was the senior centre-back against Shrewsbury and he should keep his place with John Terry returning alongside him. Expect Nemanja Matic to replace John Obi Mikel, with other fringe players like Mohamed Salah, Nathan Ake and Andre Schurrle also dropping out.
Eden Hazard should return, along with Cesc Fabregas to give Chelsea a strong starting eleven. The Blues will be looking for a relatively routine win ahead of their trip to Slovenia to face Maribor in the Champions League in mid-week.
