Manchester United have endured quite the crisis in the defensive department since the start of the Louis van Gaal regime.
In fact, the downfall of the defence may well have started before the Dutchman took over at Old Trafford as the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Co. departed the club.
And this season, United's defence have looked extremely vulnerable as they've shipped in a number of goals, including five against Leicester City and four against League One outfit MK Dons.
Despite only conceding once against Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad this past weekend, Van Gaal's defensive worries must have been at an all-time high.
The Red Devils finished the game in Eastlands with two teenagers and two midfielders in their back four, as Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Paddy McNair and Luke Shaw were the players attempting to protect David de Gea's goal.

For one reason or another, the Red Devils' defenders just can't stay fit. The likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jonny Evans and now Marcos Rojo have spent time on the sidelines in recent time.
And, in truth, the players haven't exactly impressed when they've been on the pitch: Smalling's recent red-card at the Etihad was met with anger from all at Old Trafford as United ultimately lost the derby.
