Players face tough competition - Allardyce

Published Add your comment

England forward Andy Carroll should not expect to walk back into West Ham's team once fully fit again, manager Sam Allardyce has warned. Carroll - signed in a club-record 15 million pounds (24 million USD) deal from Liverpool in June 2013 - has yet to feature this season after undergoing ankle surgery, but if he shows no ill effects from a behind-closed-doors match against Southend could come into contention for Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter against Aston Villa.
