Chelsea forward Eden Hazard may well have missed from the spot in his side's Champions League clash with Slovenian outfit Maribor last night, but he's still regarded as the best penalty taker in Europe, reports the Metro.
With an incredible 100% conversion rate on the domestic scene, the winger has slotted home 17 out of 17 penalties. In a list full of world-class stars, there's no one else that has the same record as Chelsea's main man.
Just behind Hazard sit Diego Castro, Xabi Prieto and fellow Premier League player Leighton Baines, who have all missed one penalty each.
Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, who is ahead of Lionel Messi in the pecking order, has a conversion rate of 91.2%, despite having missed as many as five domestic penalties. However, the Real Madrid superstar has taken far more spot kicks than anyone else after racking up as many as 57.
There's one Manchester United player on the list, too, but it's not Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie. In fact, it's the Red Devils' Colombian hit man Radamel Falcao, who has struck home 16 of his 18 league penalties. He may well find himself behind in the pecking order to take spot kicks at Old Trafford, however.

Hazard's the man
It's Hazard, though, that leads the way, and all eyes will be on him as he next steps up from the spot for the Stamford Bridge outfit. He will, of course, be hoping that he finds his magic touch once again after failure in Europe.
We will certainly see if he can handle the pressure if his side get a penalty in front of the Kop at Anfield against Liverpool this weekend. Hazard will be desperate to inspire the Blues to another famous victory at Anfield as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
