Ravi Bopara exclusive: England all-rounder on man boobs, skinfolds & fake noses

Ravi Bopara spoke to GiveMeSport last week in response to questions from his fans but, on this occasion, the England all-rounder has been fielding queries from his international colleagues.

Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Steven Finn and a selection of others from the England squad have been in touch with Bopara, but these three were particularly mischievous with their lines of questioning.

Root asked: "Growing up in the academy, what was your secret to weight loss?" This led Bopara to concede he was something of a 'beast' as a kid, before turning the tables back on Root.

"I know why he's asking me this, he's got man boobs," Bopara joked. "But they’ve got better recently because he’s been in the gym and now they are actually starting to look like pecks, which is good.

"So the secret is eat well. I've seen some of the rubbish which gets eaten. And if I don’t eat it, I get called a woman! 'Cos I won’t eat certain things and I'm really wary about what I eat."

Bopara was then trolled by another teammate in Jos Buttler. The wicket-keeper questioned the Essex man on how he managed to fool the skin folds tests, getting the best results but appearing to be the fattest man in the team.

"Sheer hard work, Jos!" Bopara exclaimed. "I'm not like you, I don't sit around eating chocolates and playing FIFA all day. I'm out there training, I'm out there running.

"I've just got a bit of loose skin so everybody thinks I'm fat. I'm just a huggable person and people get jealous and some people get really upset that I get better results than them on the skin folds."

Bopara added: "But Jos is pretty good himself. I don’t know how he manages it, I don’t know how he fools the machine, but he’s alright."

Steven Finn provided the final troll of the afternoon: "Are you wearing a wig or is it just special shampoo you use?"

However Bopara, as witty as ever, turned it back on to Finn. "Here we go, funny guy, Finny. It’s a special shampoo - but I want to ask him a question.

"I'm gonna ask him the question that Moeen Ali asked me, is that nose real or is it fake? That’s all I wanna know Finny.

"Is that nose real or is it fake and have you improved your FIFA skills?"
