Mats Hummels wants to join Arsenal in January; latest transfer round-up (1)

Chelsea maintained their four point lead at the top of the Premier League table after recording a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho's side are now clear favourites to lift the domestic trophy next May, especially after Manchester City dropped more points following a frustrating 2-2 draw with struggling Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

With Manchester United and Liverpool under-performing, and Arsenal yet to kick into gear, the only way the Blues look like being stopped is if there title challengers significantly strengthen their squads when the transfer window reopens in January.

Of course, it might already be too late by then. But that won't stop the flurry of transfer rumours and speculation doing the rounds in the national press, with all of the elite club's in England's top-flight seemingly setting their sights on reinforcements at the turn of the year.

With Brendan Rodgers keen to address the lack of goals his side are scoring - particularly at Anfield - and Arsene Wenger in desperate need of defensive additions, there's certainly no shortage of tittle tattle for football fans to get their teeth stuck into this Sunday.
