Arsenal meltdown against Swansea is a real concern

Published 1 Comments

Arsenal's faltering defence was once again exploited today by Premier League side Swansea as Arsenal squandered another lead to fall to a 2-1 defeat.

The Gunners took the lead through a counter attack orchestrated by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck, culminating in a cool finish from in form striker Alexis Sanchez.

However, two goals in three minutes saw Swansea regain control and take all three points from the out of sorts Gunners.

It was another lacklustre display from Arsenal with Arsene Wenger deciding to play the same squad that squandered a three goal lead only to capitulate defensively and draw 3-3 against Anderlecht last week in the Champions League.

"We didn't play for 90 minutes with the right vigorous attitude." - Arsene Wenger

With many fans left angry and frustrated at Wenger's refusal to change his squad around it can only be a matter of time before more fans decide to join the 'Wenger out' soiree.

Devout of desire

The Gunners seem devout of desire and confidence as does the manager who didn't seem too bothered about the defeat.

In his post match press conference, he said: "In the end we lost the three points - that's very sad and very disappointing but we have to take it on the chin. We didn't play for 90 minutes with the right vigorous attitude."

Season crumbling

With the win Swansea leapfrog Arsenal in the Premier League table with the Gunners now sitting sixth and a whopping 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea.

It's early days yet but most sporting pundits have already ruled Arsenal out of the title race with the team struggling to even hold a place in the top four.

Time for a change

Could it be time for the manager to go? Or is it more a question of a squad overhaul?

The Gunners need to kick start their season soon or risk the wrath of the Gunners faithful.
