Arsenal fend off Manchester United to sign Brooklyn Beckham

Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of former England captain, David Beckham has been snapped up by Arsenal on a short-term deal.

The 15-year-old has caught the eyes of many clubs around England including his father's old club, Manchester United, along with strong interests from current league leaders Chelsea and Manchester City.

A Daily Star source has told the paper: “Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played. Arsenal realise he can be a huge talent. They have seen that potential and protected their asset.

“The club has signed him, fending off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in the meantime. Next summer we may see him sign a big-money deal and with Arsenal.”

It is highly unlikely that Beckham will feature in Arsenal's starting line up any time soon with the gunners struggling to find any consistent form.

Brooklyn is not the only Beckham to shine on the football stage after his father's illustrious career. 12-year-old Romeo and 10-year-old Cruz have been representing Arsenal's under 13's and under 10's, respectively.

The Beckhams have a strong bond with Arsenal although David's career mainly revolved around Manchester United. An unnamed source told the Daily Star:"David has a good relationship with manager Arsène Wenger. Brooklyn really has potential. Wenger was impressed with his talent, his attitude and his drive to succeed."
