Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has insisted that it was a 'special' moment for him to score the winning goal at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace on Saturday, reports the Mirror.
Mata scored the only goal of the game against Neil Warnock's side after coming on as a second half substitute, and now the Spaniard has revealed that it felt like an 'explosion of joy'.
Manchester United have now moved up into seventh place in the Premier League table and are now just two points behind fourth placed West Ham United after 11 games.
Writing in his blog, the Spanish playmaker said: "The feeling of scoring a goal at Old Trafford is nearly impossible to describe, but I can tell you that is very special.
"It's like an explosion of joy shared with everybody in the stadium, the players and the crowd. Even more if your goal secures the three points!

"Winning this weekend was very important. We came from a few weeks without victories and these three points take us near the teams at the top, and encourage us to keep working hard and improving our game."
The Red Devils are next in action against rivals Arsenal on November 22, and Mata is hoping that his side can kick on against the Gunners and start producing consistent results.
"Obviously, we know there is still a lot to do in order to get where we want to, but it's easier when you win.
"We're already thinking about the next game, and it's a big one, in London against Arsenal. I hope we win again and show consistency in our results."
United in need
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will be hoping to see a number of his players return from injury as the club travel to the Emirates after the international break. Chris Smalling could return to the club's back-line after his suspension, but it remains to be seen as to whether the likes of Phil Jones and Co. return for the showdown.
In attack, meanwhile, Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao will be hoping to prove his fitness to the Red Devils boss, whilst Mata will be hoping to be handed a starting role after his crucial goal against Palace.
There's no doubt about it, though, both teams will be doing their upmost to secure the points in north London, with both United and Arsenal struggling to find their best form at this early stage in the season.
