The Chicago Bears conceded 50 points for the second game in a row, with the latest rout coming against the Green Bay Packers.
That kind of back-to-back brutal blowout hasn't been seen in the National Football League since 1923 and the short-lived Rochester Jeffersons side that only existed for a whole five seasons.
As you can imagine, Bears fans aren't too happy with how things are going right in Soldier Field, and head coach Marc Trestman isn't going to make feel any more positive with what he had to say today.
“It’s like I told our football team at halftime and after the game: ‘We’re not a very good football team right now," Trestman said according to NFL.com. "We’ve descended over the last three weeks and didn’t make any changes or any positive movement after the bye, and that starts with me.”
"We’re not a very good football team right now." - Marc Trestman
There have been quite a few fans calling for Trestman’s head with the way that the team has played this year. Chicago was expected to have one of the best offenses in the NFL, with a star receiving corps of Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and running back Matt Forte, but they have completely floundered with Jay Cutler woefully under performing and Trestman being just as bad.
Cutler spoke about the game as well and how the Bears are going to move forward.
“I think we’re all searching for answers right now," Cutler said. "For sure, I thought we had a great bye week. We had a heck of a three practices, and I told Marc that on Saturday. And I thought we’d bring that into this (game), and to play like that is pretty much embarrassing.”
Needless to say, the Bears have no idea how to get back on track, and it seems more and more obvious that Brandon Marshall was completely right when he laid into all his teammates after their loss last week for being so bad.
The Bears really are terrible right now, and Chicago fans should be worried if the men at the top have any idea how to turn things around.
